Flor de Jamaica Tea
One of my biggest personal challenges here in Nicaragua is drinking enough water. Especially while living under the intense sun. Right now I am absolutely obsessed with Flor de Jamaica Tea. Flor de Jamaica, also know as hibiscus, grows abundantly here in Nicaragua and has been clinically proven to have many health properties such as lowering blood pressure as well as anti-inflammatory and antioxidant effects.
Aserradores, Chinandega, Nicaragua
Aserradores, a small village of approximately 150 families located in Northern Nicaragua. The community struggles in securing necessities like potable water and sanitation. One of the primary challenges for this rural community is the lack of economic opportunities, which has increased since the sociopolitical crisis in April 2018.
